A document builder, not a basic converter

Create a finished PDF from photos, scans and screenshots

Basic converters place one photo on one page and stop. Rantey adds the controls needed for real documents: an optional cover, filename captions, consistent paper sizes, automatic orientation, page numbering and duplex preparation. Every setting is visible before the PDF is created.

Long screenshot paginationAutomatically cuts tall screenshots into readable page-sized sections.
Mixed orientation supportPortrait and landscape images can each receive the best page direction.
Privacy-safe image streamsRe-encoding removes EXIF location, device and camera metadata.
Single PDF or ZIP packageCombine a set or create one independent PDF per image.

Convert long screenshots into readable PDF pages

A tall screenshot can become unreadably small when forced onto one A4 page. With long screenshot slicing enabled, the tool calculates the printable page area and divides the image into consecutive sections. This is useful for web-page captures, chat exports, receipts, tutorials and mobile app records. The original order is preserved and no intermediate files are uploaded.

Image quality and approximate PDF size

Optimized JPG encoding usually creates the smallest PDF for photographs and scans. PNG is lossless and better for graphics or text-heavy screenshots, but can produce larger files. Smart mode preserves PNG-style quality when appropriate and uses JPG for ordinary photographs. An optional target size makes additional quality passes when the first PDF is larger than requested; the result is approximate because page content compresses differently.

Private image-to-PDF conversion

Images are decoded, rotated, arranged and embedded using browser APIs and a local PDF library. They are never posted to the Rantey server. Re-encoding also prevents original EXIF blocks from being copied into the PDF image streams. Large batches still use your device memory, so the tool limits projects to 40 images, 150 MB total and 32 megapixels per source.

Common questions

JPG to PDF FAQ

How do I convert JPG images to one PDF?+

Add one or more JPG, PNG or WebP images, arrange their order, select the page layout and choose Create PDF.

Can I combine multiple photos into a single PDF?+

Yes. Rantey can combine up to 40 images into one ordered PDF or create a separate PDF for every image in a ZIP file.

Can I convert a long screenshot into multiple PDF pages?+

Yes. Enable Long screenshot slicing. Tall images are divided at page boundaries instead of being shrunk into one unreadable page.

Can I choose A4, Letter or image-sized PDF pages?+

Yes. Choose A4, Letter, Legal, A3 or Fit each page to its image. Fixed pages support automatic, portrait or landscape orientation.

Can I add a cover and page numbers?+

Yes. Add a title and subtitle cover, filename captions and page numbers to create a finished document.

Are photo metadata and location details copied into the PDF?+

Images are decoded and re-encoded in the browser before embedding, which removes EXIF location and camera metadata from the image stream.

Can I control the finished PDF file size?+

You can choose image quality or enter an approximate target PDF size. The tool reduces image encoding quality when needed.

Are my images uploaded?+

No. Image decoding, page creation and PDF download happen inside your browser. Rantey does not receive the files.
