How to crop without losing image quality
Cropping removes pixels outside the selected area, so the crop itself does not invent new detail. Quality can decrease when a small crop is enlarged to a much bigger output size or when a lossy format is exported repeatedly. For best results, begin with the largest available source, avoid unnecessary enlargement and use a high quality setting. PNG is helpful for sharp graphics and transparency; JPG is commonly efficient for photographs; WebP can provide a useful balance for web publishing.
Private browser-based image editing
The cropper uses your browser's image and canvas capabilities. Your chosen image is not uploaded to Rantey, placed in cloud storage or attached to an account. This also removes upload waiting time. Very large source images and very large output dimensions can still use significant device memory, particularly on older phones, so the tool limits source files to 30 MB and output dimensions to 12,000 pixels.
